Dorothy H. (Landrigan) Simon, 86, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2010 at St. Anne Home and Retirement Community in Ft. Wayne. Dorothy was born in Huntington, IN on September 22, 1923. She was a long time member of St. John the Baptist Church, Ft. Wayne. Her life centered around her faith and lovingly raising her seven children. She enjoyed working in her garden and volunteering at her church. She was an excellent baker and loved to share her recipes with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Roy Simon, daughter Anne Cline, son Paul James Simon and her sister Mary Farmer. She is
survived by her children Kay (Mike) Sorg of Denver, CO, Emily (Bruce) Faylor of Ft. Wayne; John (Ruth) of Bloomington, IN; Lorraine Williams of Eden Prairie, MN; Sarah (Ken) Sorg of Ft. Wayne, IN; and Rick (Holly) of Ft. Wayne. Also surviving are her sisters Ellen Kitt, Kathleen Garber, Corrine (Herb) Scheiber and brothers Patrick (Susan) Landrigan, Harold Landrigan, and William Landrigan.
Grandchildren: Cynthia Mascarenas, Paul Cline, Anthony Cline, Adelle (Mark) Marvin, Nathaniel Simon, Zachary Simon, Leslie (Andrew) White, Katie Faylor, Abigail Williams, Joseph (Jessica) Williams, Michael Williams, Lindsey Sorg, Carrie (Nicholas) Friend, Allison Sorg, James Simon, Zachary Pettit, Kara Simon and one great-granddaughter Ella White. Mass of Christian burial is 10:30am Thursday at St. John the Baptist Church 4500 Fairfield Avenue with calling one hour prior, Fr. Cyril Fernandez officiating. Calling also 2 - 5 & 7 - 9pm
Wednesday at Mungovan & Sons Memorial Chapel 2114 South Calhoun Street with rosary service at 7:30pm. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Huntington, IN. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial
contributions be made to memorial masses or to the charity of choice.
