Major League Baseball Player, Broadcaster. He was a left-handed pitcher for eight seasons (1955 to 1962) with the Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox. His notable career highlights include American League Rookie of the Year honors for 1955, two-time American League All Star selection (1955 to 1956) and two-time league leader in strike outs (1955 with 245 and 1956 with 263). On May 7, 1957, Score was struck in the right eye by a line drive off the bat of the Yankees' Gil McDougald. Score would never regain the success he achieved during his first two seasons. In 150 career games, he won 55 and lost 46 with a 3.36 lifetime ERA. After retiring as player, Score was a broadcaster with the Indians from 1964 to 1997.
