Fred Earl Jr. was my cousin. He was 11 years older, so I didn't really get to know him until we were grown. He was such a gentle, quiet sort of man, and always had a hug for me. He carried around a sort of sadness that only a parent who has lost a child knows, as he lost his only son at 15 years old in 1978.I will miss his grin, smiling eyes, encouragement (I was trying to quit smoking. I did it Fred!),and emails!
He passed away(at 61 years old) doing what he loved to do; riding his motorcycle! He left behind his wife Peggy, two daughters, Angela and Sheila, his grandchildren, two sisters, many nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Preceding him in death was his son Fred Earl Birch III, in 1978; his parents, a sister Darlene Heinzer, a niece Audrey Morgan, a nephew Thomas Heinzer, and his grandparents.
Rest well, Fred!
