Addie Earlene Alston Brown, 95, of 416 S. Glassy Mountain Road, and widow of the late Marvin Vertner Brown, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at Allen Bennett Memorial Hospital.
A native of Hiawasse, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Janie Nicholson Alston. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are five daughters, Ruth Kirby, Eunice, Tooley, Ann Good and Margie Teems, all of Greer, and Faye Holcomobe, of Lyman; two sons, J.C. Brown, of Inman, and Raymond Brown, of Greer; 30 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Brown was predeceased by five children, Cecil Brown, Dorothy Kemp, Bobby Brown, Larry Brown and Grace Brown.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at The Wood Mortuary. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by the Rev. Bruce Craig and the Rev. Gene Turner. Burial will be at Milford Baptist Church Cemetery.
The families will be at their respective homes.
