Funeral services for Miss Melody Jeanette Davis, 16, of Carthage, were held Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Hawthorn Chapel with the Rev. David Hays, assisted by the Rev. Don Windham, officiating.
Burial followed in Restland Cemetery.
Miss Davis died in Willis Knighton Hospital in Shreveport Tuesday, Oct. 16, as a result of injuries received in a car-train collision the preceding Saturday. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church and the Future Teachers of America.
Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Davis of Carthage; one brother, Steve Davis, of Carthage; her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mattie Lawhorn of Carthage and her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Davis of Carthage.
