Word was received of the death in Detroit, Mich., of Richard Wellington Ransom, formerly of this city, who expired Monday, April 14, 1902. Mr. Ransom left Springfield twenty years ago, previous to which time he conducted a coal yard at Tenth and Jackson street. The remains will arrive in this city today and will be taken to Oak Ridge cemetery. IL State Journal, Springfield, IL 4-17-1902
