Captain Thomas Stedman who recently died in Tyringham, at the age of 92, was by some years the oldest inhabitant of the town. He was ten years old at the declaration of American independence, voted on the adoption of the federal constitution, cast his vote for Washington as president, and voted at every presidential election since. He leaves 6 children, 18 grand children and 16 great grand children.
