Marion Francis Gentry was born Aug. 22, 1859 in Webster County, Miss. Died Jan. 8, 1916 at Shawnee, Okla. Aged 56, 6 months, 16 days. He spent the greater part of his life in his native state and was united in marriage to Miss Sallie Francis Blakley in 1880. Fourteen children were born to this union, four of which have preceded their father to the unknown world. The children living at the time of his death are as follows W. L. Gentry, Shawnee, Okla.; Lily Pittmon, Embry, Miss.; W. A. Gentry, St. Louis, Mo,; E. H. Gentry, Los Angeles, Cal.; J. E. Gentry, Los Angeles, Cal.; Emma Stewart, Dale, Okla.; Rena Stepzinska, Shawnee, Okla.; Iva Davidson, Arkansas City, Kan.; Homo Cofer, Shawnee, Okla.; H. C. Gentry, Shawnee, Okla. When in the prime of life Mr. Gentry united with the M. E. Church and was a member of that church at Dale, Okla., at the time of his death. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. C. N. Hewitt at the home of the daughter, Mrs. C. M. Cofer, 543 North Douglas. Interment was made in the cemetery at Dale, Okla.
