Ivan H. Slack

Ivan H. Slack, 84, Wenatchee, died in a local nursing home on Sunday morning.
He was born on Dec. 14, 1899, at Douglas, the son of William James and Melissa Catherine Slack. At the age of five he moved with his family to Wenatchee where he attended school. For several winters he worked for the Douglas County Road Department and on September 20, 1923, he married Anna I. Simmons here. He owned and operated an orchard and was later a partner in the Stadelman Fruit Company. He retired in 1963.
Mr. Slack was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served as a trustee during the construction of the new church. He was past exalted ruler of Wenatchee Lodge No. 1186 B.P.O.E.; a member of William H. Jett Lodge No. 285, F.&A.M.; and Astral Chapter No. 75, Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include his wife, at home; a daughter, Mrs. W.D. (Shirley) Clearwaters, Chelan; a brother, Thomas R. Slack, Wenatchee; a sister, Mrs. Henry (Olive) Otto, Wenatchee; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
