~*~*~*~*~*~
I first met Jammia when she was about 4 years old. Her mother Mary came into my beauty shop for a haircut. We had plenty of magazines for the customers and lots of 'little kid' books as well. My mother, who doesn't do hair, was with us in the shop daily, answering the phone. Jammia found a book while her mother was getting her hair done and took the book to my mother requesting for her to read it to her.
I will always remember Mary and Larry, Jammia's parents, as great people who loved their kids. Jammia's personality came from their love for her. The year of 2004 brought forth 2 of the biggest shocks of my life: the passing of Jammia and the passing of my father.
Note: The name that I always knew her as was Jammia Baker. Her bio father was a Johnson, hence, the Johnson on her stone. I am just putting BAKER so that it will be easier to search when searching for her and her brother Cohn.
