David Henry Taylor 64, retired merchant, of 2756 Green street, died in a local hospital late Saturday afternoon following an illness of several months.
Mr Taylor was born at Howell, GA in 1869 and moved to Florida about 40 years ago. For 35 years he operated the D H Taylor Mercantile Co at Branford, retiring in 1928. In April 1930 he moved to Jacksonville.
Survivors are two daughters, Misses Esther and Agnes Taylor; a son David W Taylor, all of this city; four brothers; including John Taylor, jacksonville, and two sisters, Mrs Jake Gibbs, St Augustine, and Mrs N C Wetherington of Jasper.
The funeral was held at 11am today at Branford with the Rev J A Montgomery officiating.
Branford Lodge F & A M conducted services at the grave. Hardage and Williams were in charge of funeral arrangements.
