Nellie R. Anderson, 80, died Wednesday, February 20, 2002, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville, Georgia, most of her life. She was a homemaker, and a member of Watermelon Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudie Anderson.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beatrice and Walter Anderson of Glennville; a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Vanada and Horace Stanfield of Lakeland, Florida; a stepson, Vernon Anderson of Athens; two sisters, Sybil Lynn and Junemae Lynn, both of Crescent, Georgia; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Zandra and Glen Akins of Glennville; three grandsons and granddaughters-in-law: Robert and Susan Moody, Wesley and Misti Kicklighter, and Bryan and Cheryl Anderson, all of Glennville; six great-grandchildren: Cody Akins, Austin Akins, Chalmus Kicklighter, Raegan Kicklighter, Matthew Anderson, and Tanner Moody, all of Glennville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 23, at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jerry Knight and the Rev. Van Power officiating. Burial was in Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bryan Anderson, Glen Akins, Robert Moody, Wesley Kicklighter, Larry Anderson, and Doug Heider.
Carter Funeral Chapel of Glennville, Georgia, was in charge of the arrangements.
