He was the son of Ezekiel Burdick and Amey/Amy Downing. He was born in Westerly, Kings County, Rhode Island, one of nine children. Henry and Judith Maxson were married in 1778 and lived in Scott, Cortland County, New York for many years. Both are buried in Spafford City Cemetery.
