MRS. ALBERTA WELTY DIES IN FT. WAYNE
FUNERAL THURSDAY FOR SISTER OF MRS. CHRIS BALSIGER
Mrs. Alberta W. Welty, 89, widow of Christian Welty, of 311 S. Cornell Ave., Ft. Wayne, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday at a Ft. Wayne nursing home following an extended illness.
Mrs. Welty, a native of Switzerland, had lived in Ft. Wayne since 1917. She formerly resided in Pandora, Ohio. She belonged to the First Missionary Church in Ft. Wayne.
Surviving are four sons, Clarence of Denver, and Edison, Oliver and Ivan, all of Fort Wayne; five daughters, Mrs. Elam Sprunger of Van Nuys, Calif., Mrs. Wayne Ehresman of Corona, Calif., Mrs. Clarence Leichty of South Bend and Mrs. Reuben Roth and Mrs. Royle Sprunger of Fort Wayne; a brother, Andrew G. Burry of Fort Wayne; a sister, Mrs. Chris Balsiger of Berne; 31 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the First Missionary Church in Ft. Wayne, with Rev. Cornelius Vlot officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at D. O. McComb Funeral Home or at the church after 11 a.m. Thursday.
