Charlie A. Cox, 79, Dayhoit, died Wednesday in Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with the Rev. Otis King Officiating. Burial will be in Tazewell, Tenn. In addition to his wife, Nora, he is survived by eight children, Mrs. Elbert Hall (Ethel), Dayhoit; Mrs. Woodrow Cole (Hett), New Tazwell, Tenn.; Mrs. Charles Hughett (Vola), Middlesboro; Mrs. John Hembree (Alma), Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Lumis and Homer of Gary, Ind,; Edward, Indianapolis; and Woodie of Cincinnati. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one brother, General Cox, Middlesboro; and three sisters, Mrs. Freely Williams, New Tazewell, Mrs. Mossis Haley, Middlesboro; and Mrs. Lundy Keck, Knoxville. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home after 6 p.m. today.
