He was born May 24, 1920, in Berks County, a son of the late Ray S. and Ida Mae (Hafer) Bright.
Mr. Bright was a 1938 graduate of Palmyra High School and a World War II United States Army veteran, where he served in Alaska.
He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Palmyra.
Ray spent his entire life working in the automotive industry when, in 1973, he opened the Ray H. Bright Garage in Annville.
He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family, especially his great-grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Thelma I. (Eberly) Bright; his children, Linda E. Fleck of Campbelltown, and Ray E. Bright and his wife, Roberta of Palmyra; four grandchildren, Jolene Bright, Judi Bowman Matt Wiest, and Chris Fleck; three greatgrandchildren, Cole and Hannah Bowman and Natalie Wiest; and his sister, Dr. Nancy Bright, M.D., of Florida.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Julie Longo.
Services will be held Monday, November 10, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Route No. 422 and Lucy Avenue in Hershey.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Gravel Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
