The daughter of James and Jewell (Remer) Turner was born Jan. 20, 1970, in Tulsa. She graduated as an honor student from Inola High School in 1988. Shawna was active in basketball, softball, and track. She continued her education at Rogers State University, and graduated with an associates degree in 1990. Shawna was a member of the First Baptist Church of Inola. She worked as a pharmacy technician, and enjoyed sports. Shawna died Sunday, March 18, in Mayes County from injuries sustained in an accident. She was 37 years old. She is preceded in death by her grandparents: James Walter Turner, Artie Jane Wilkerson, and Ed and Madelene Remer. Funeral services were Wednesday, March 21, at First Baptist Church, Inola, with Rev. Shannon Barnes officiating. Burial was at Wofford Cemetery, Catoosa, under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home & Crematory.
