Luther moved to Lorain County with his parents and siblings in 1850. He married Hattie Wallace, September 15, 1861. On August 6, 1862, he enlisted in Company F, 103rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry at Amherst, OH for a 3 year term of service. Occupation: Mechanic. He died at Danville, KY in the 103rd regimental hospital of apoplexy. On September 5, 1863 Hattie applied for a widow's army pension which was issued as Certificate #31521. Nothing more is known about Harriet Bemis.
