On August 6, 1862, he enlisted in Company F, 103rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry at Amherst, OH for a 3 year term of service. Occupation: Mechanic. He died at Danville, KY in the 103rd regimental hospital of apoplexy. On September 5, 1863 Hattie applied for a widow's army pension which was issued as Certificate #31521. Nothing more is known about Harriet Bemis.
