William M. Sollars was born 7/1/1833 in Vinton County, Ohio. He died 9/24/1927 in Sycamore, Montgomery County, Kansas.


Note from Pam Wilson : Served in the cavalry during the Civil War. He and his squad were captured while out foraging. He was lucky, as it was near the end of the Civil War when captured and he spent several months in the infamous Andersonville Prison in Georgia where so many died due to starvation, scurvy and weather. William's mother was Hosana Waldron, daughter of Philip Schuyler Waldron whose 3rd wife was Elizabeth Turner-Hardin-Eutsler-Waldron. Elizabeth's son was Andrew Jackson Eutsler who married Eliza Ann Remy. Eliza and William's wife Jane were sisters
