Antonio "Tony" Infante Molina was born to Jose Manuel Molina and Beatrice Infante in Brownsville, Texas. After graduating from Brownsville High School in 1958, Tony joined the Navy, serving from December 1958 to October 1962 with four additional years in the reserves.

In 1967, while living in Chicago, Tony met William "Bill" Ert, the foster son of Alfred "Alf" Grieve and Evelyn "Ev" Bingham. Tony and Bill moved to Texas in 1968 to care for Tony's ailing mother. After her death, they moved to Houston. Bill, an accomplished drag performer, dressed in drag to obtain a Texas Drivers License as a woman under the name Billie Ert and in October of 1972, Tony and Bill, again dressed in drag, presented themselves to the Wharton County Clerk's Office applying for a marriage license. The clerk issued the license, not knowing the couple were two men. On October 5, 1972, at the Harmony Wedding Chapel at 8120 Gulf Freeway, Houston, Texas, Tony and Bill were united in marriage by the Rev. Richard Vincent, Founding pastor of Metropolitan Church of Christ of Dallas. While Wharton County refused to record the marriage and the Texas Attorney General tried to nullify the license, Texas law at the time explicitly made the marriage valid, dissolvable only by a judge, which never occurred, making Tony and Bill's one of the first legally valid same sex marriages in the United States.

In 1975, Bill developed cancer and the following year, Tony and Bill moved to Bill's hometown of Toronto, Canada for additional treatment and to be close to his family. Bill succumbed to the cancer on September 11, 1976 and was buried in a family plot with his foster mother's father and eventually his foster parents and brother. After Bill's death, Tony returned to Texas, re-opening his wallpaper business. Tony died in Houston on March 28, 1991 of AIDS related complications.
