"NATIVE OF ST. HENRY DIED AT COUNTY HOME
Michael F Studer, a lifelong and greatly respected resident of near St Henry passed away at the County Home Friday night May 13 at 9:45 o'clock, after an illness of complications due to age. He passed on well qualified with the last sacraments of the Catholic church, of which he had been a consistent and lifelong member.
Mr. Studer was born at St. Henry in 1860 and had spent practically all his life on a farm west of that village. he was a kind and provident husband and father, a neighbor ever ready to be of assistance when assistance was needed and was held in high esteem by a legion of friends.
His wife, Mrs Katherine Kessen Studer preceded him in death in 1911 and one daughter, Mrs Frances Huelsman, is deceased. Surviving are the following children, Peter Studer of route 6? Celina, George, Ben and Joseph Studer of Celina, Mrs Marie Reichert, Mrs Carrie Arnold, Mrs Bernadine Popp and Mrs Josephine Goode of Dayton, Clem Studer of New York City. There are 22 grandchildren living.
Funeral services were held in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Celina at 9 o'clock Monday morning, Rev. George Hindelang officiating at Requiem high mass, and Rev. August Halter delivering the sermon. His five sons and one grandson were bearers of the pall.
Burial was at the St Henry Catholic cemetery with Rev. P. A. Kanney officiating at the grave.

Reichert and family of Dayton, Clem Studer of New York City, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Arnold, Mr. and Mrs. Al Goode of Dayton, George Huelsman and son Virgil of Cleveland, John Speck and family, Henry Hess and family, George Lefeld and family, Mr and Mrs. William Speck, Henry Schmackers, William Behrens, Anthony Fullenkamp, Frank Hartings, Frank Reigelsperger, Herman Lefeld, William Stammen of Saint Henry, Amndy Helser, Ferd Roessner, Mrs Peter Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Froning, Mr. and Mrs Mike Lefeld, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Lefeld of Coldwater, Martin Kessen and family of Carthagena".
NOTE: His headstone inscription is not correct. His church baptism record, dated 22 Nov 1857, is found on page 22 of the Baptismal Register of St Joseph Church. Entries on this page begin with one dated 27 Oct 1857 and end with another dated 19 Feb 1858. Also, Michael is age 3 in the 1860 US Census listing for Mercer County, OH. His death certificate also incorrectly lists his birth as 22 Nov 1859.
