Hilda was my Great Aunt, my Mother, Roma E. Swinehart Raper's Aunt. I loved being with my Aunt and her family: Husband Henry; daughters: Kathleen & Jerilyn. We spent many Sunday afternoons at their home in East Los Angeles in the 1950's, much the same as my Mother spent funfilled hours with young Hilda's family when they all lived in a small town in Iowa. Hilda grew up knowing loving parents and siblings and she in return gave that same love and devotion to everyone in her extended family after marriage to Henry.
Henry was from Texas and was 'laid back' and easy going whereas Hilda was a 'mover and a shaker'! She liked to be with people and people liked to be with her. Thus the memory on her headstone: "LOVED BY ALL"
