She transferred to St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing, Spokane, Wash., graduating in 1944, and became licensed as a registered nurse in 1945 in the states of Washington and Florida.

She married Charles T. Fox , a staff sergeant in the Army Air Corps during World War II, on July 9, 1944, in Reardan Lutheran Church. After their marriage the couple was transferred by the Army to Orlando, Fla., where Mrs. Fox was a staff nurse at Orange General Hospital. In 1963, the Fox Funeral Homes were awarded the Golden Rule Award by the Order of the Golden Rule in New York City for their outstanding efforts in the funeral directing profession. They owned Fox Funeral Homes in Heuvelton, Lisbon, Ogdensburg, and Hammond until 1979, when they retired.

After retirement, the couple spent their winters in Lake Mary, Fla., and summers at their cottage on the St. Lawrence River. Mr. Fox died April 17, 1998.
