Bennie Dee was orginally named Scott Roy MAY, but his parents later changed it to Benjamin Aquilla Jr and called him "Bennie Dee".

Bennie Dee was a PFC in the US Army from 1943-1944 and served in England, France, Holland, Belgium & Germany, earning 3 Battle Stars. He was a welder/flame cutter.

Bennie returned home in 1944.
