He was retired from the C&EI Railroad after 47 years. He served in the Arm during World War I. He was a member of the Second Church of Christ and Vermilion County Amateur Radio Association.
Surviving, besides his wife, are two son, Fred E. Biggs and Charles R. Biggs, both of Danville; a niece, Kathryn Miller, Danville; three nephews, Richard Biggs, Oak Park, Illinois, Austin Biggs, Monticello, Indiana, and Robert Biggs, Bronson, Missouri; six grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a son.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday at Lakeside Funeral Chapel with David Kennedy officiating. Burial was in West Lebanon Cemetery." –Star Tribune, June 21, 1988
