"Death Claims Mrs. Ferris

Wife of Retired Dallas Banker Will Be Buried Wednesday.

Funeral services for Mrs. Royal A. Ferris Sr., who died early Tuesday at St. Paul Sanitarium, will be held at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the residence, 4209 Loraine avenue, Highland Park West. The Rev. George M. Gibson, pastor of the Munger Place Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be private.

Mrs. Ferris was born at Marlin Sept. 4, 1875, the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Charles E. Brown. Her mother who survives her came of a prominent Texas family and her father was a distinguished Methodist minister. For many years Mrs. Ferris was active in charity and religious work and was prominent in Dallas social and civic circles.

Surviving are her husband, who was active president of the American Exchange National Bank until a few years ago when he retired; a son, Royal A. Ferris Jr., and a grandson, Royal A. Ferris III; her mother and a brother, John T. Brown of Stamford.

Pallbearers will be nephews of Mrs. Ferris. They are Horace E. Marshall, Charles H. Ferris, Charles W. Brown, Floyd A. Ferris, J.W. Ferris and John Granville Cochran."

"Mrs. Ferris Laid to Rest

Funeral Is Attended by Large Gathering of Friends.
Following funeral services at the residence, 4209 Loraine avenue, Highland Park West, at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Mrs. Royal A. Ferris Sr., who died at St. Paul's Sanitarium early Tuesday, was buried in Greenwood Cemetery. A large gathering of friends attended the funeral services, which were conducted by the Rev. George M. Gibson, pastor of the Munger Place Methodist Church.

Several numbers were sung by a quartet composed of Mrs. Ella Pharr Blankenship, Mrs. Madison Adams, Joseph B. Rucker and Earle D. Behrends. Mrs. Walter Crow accompanied at the piano.

Burial Services at Greenwood Cemetery were private, only the family and close personal friends being in attendance.

Pallbearers, all nephews of Mrs. Ferris, were Horace E. Brown, Charles II. Brown, Charles W. Brown, Floyd A. Ferris, Ferris Brown and John Granville Cochran.

Surviving are her husband, Royal A. Ferris Sr.; a son, Royal A. Ferris Jr., and a grandson, Royal A. Ferris III. Mrs. Ferris' mother, Mrs. Charles E. Brown of Marlin, and a brother, John T. Brown of Stamford, also survive."
