Photographer. He is best known for his famed photo of Lyndon Johnson while being sworn in as president aboard Air Force One following President Kennedy's assassination on November 22, 1963. He was serving in the United States Army Signal Corps when he became the White House photographer during the Kennedy years. He caught many memorable moments of the first family during that time. He remained as President Johnson's photographer until 1965 and captured on film the historic signing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. In addition, Stoughton worked for the National Park Service.
