E.A. Bestul who left here Wednesday for Rochester to seek medical aid, was found dead in his room having passed away with approximately. Mr. Bestul leaves to mourn his loss two brothers, one residing in Fosston and Isaic in Bagley. The remains arrived Monday noon and funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Synon and with Rev. Sorenson in charge. Mr. Bestul was laid to rest in the Synod cemetery beside his wife who passed away two years ago.
Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church at Shevlin September 26, for Ellef A. Benson who died September 22nd, Rev. A. Sorenson officiating.
A brief survey of Mr. Bestul's life shows his birthplace as Goodhue County, Minnesota. At the age of 21 he came to Fertile, Minnesota at which place he became married. He came to Clearwater County 26 years ago and has been a resident here until his death. He had been a suffered of heart disease several years, seeking medical aid at Rochester, but to no avail.
