Denison. Minor B. Monoghan was born inN. J., Nov. I, 1830, died Feb. 10, 1909, aged 78 years, 4 months and 9 days. He moved at the age of 12 years to St. Louis, Mo., where he took up the work of steam engineering which he followed until physically incapacitate. In 1861 he enlisted in the 3rd Missouri Cavalry and was afterward transferred to Co. K of the Sixth Missouri where he served in 1865. During 1868 he moved to Ray county, Mo., and in 1869 was married to Miss Mary E. Douglas, who with two children, Mrs. Josie O'Neal and John Monaghan survive him. He has made his home in Denison since 1865. In 1873 he united with the United Presbyterian church of Willow Brook, Mo. Although he had been educated for the priesthood, he transferred his membership to the U. P. church ofDenison in 1890 ... and though an invalid for many years often said "all is well, I am resting in the Lord." He was able to sign his pension papers a few minutes before he died, Feb. 10 .... burial was made in the cemetery north of town.
