Mary was the third child of Kenneth Ellsworth and Sylvia Berniece (Markley) Malchow. She had an older sister Amaryllis Jean who died in 1991. She has one older brother Leroy who died in 2021. She has a younger brother George who died in 2020. She has two living younger sisters and one younger living brother. Mary graduated from Francesville High School in 1952. On 3-21-1953 in Pulaski Co., she married Elmer Loyd Poisel. They had 5 children and 2 foster children. She worked at Medaryville Garment Factory for several years. She also made many dresses for weddings, show choirs, children, and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and kept a large garden over the years. Mary loved her family and her family history. She loved family reunions. She was a member of the Medaryville Christian Church.
