BORTNER – On October 15, 1954, at 1:25 a.m., at Pleasant Acres, Josiah D. Bortner, 550 Dupont Avenue, husband of the late Elmira M. Bortner, aged 94 years, 10 months, 21 days.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services Monday at 10 a.m. at Edward W. Baumeister Colonial Mortuary, South Queen and Jackson Streets. Interment in St. Jacob's (Stone) Church Cemetery, near Glenville.
Friends may call at the Baumeister Mortuary Sunday evening from 7 to 9.

Josiah D. Bortner

Josiah D. Bortner, 550 Dupont Avenue, husband of the late Elmira M. Bortner, died yesterday at 1:25 a.m. at Pleasant Acres. He was in his 95th year.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Melvin W. Brodbeck, of Brodbeck, and Jessie M. Bortner, 550 Dupont Avenue; a brother, George D. Bortner, South Bend, Ind.; two sisters, Amanda D. Bortner, York, and Mrs. John W. Dubs, Glenville; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A retired veterinarian, Mr. Bortner was once postmaster of Glenville. He was a deputy sheriff under the late Andrew Brodbeck and was a member of St. Jacob's (Stone) Church, near Glenville.
Rev. Kenneth S. Ehrhart, his pastor, will officiate at funeral services Monday at 10 a.m. at Edward W. Baumeister Colonial Mortuary, Queen and Jackson Streets. Interment will be in St. Jacob's Church Cemetery.
