Emma "Luella" Myers, 88, formerly of Neosho, MO, died Mon., Nov. 3, 2008, at a Columbia MO nursing home, following a three month illness. She was born Oct. 26, 1920, in McDonald County, MO, to Henry and Emma A. (Gilmore) Beaver.
Mrs. Myers lived in the Neosho, MO area most of her life. She worked as a cook, then as a dietician, at the Sale Memorial Hospital, in Neosho, for 19 years. She moved to Columbia in 2001, and was a member of the Little Bonne Femme Baptist Church in Columbia.
She and Knowles E. Myers were married Dec. 18, 1938 in Neosho. He preceded her in death Dec. 31, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a son, William E. Myers, April 9, 1993.
She is survived by a son, James H. Myers, and a daughter, Rebecca J. Rastkar, both of Columbia, MO; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Sat., Nov. 8, at Macedonia Cemetery, Stella, MO, with Rev. Ryan Palmer officiating.
