Mom was born December 5, 1915 in Crescent, Utah to Edward and Myrtle (Kemp) Fairbourn, the third of seven children. She worked with her parents and siblings on the family farm until her temple marriage to Gordon (Charlie) Green in 1935. Mom and dad moved to Bingham Canyon where they lived the first years of their marriage and later to Riverton, UT. Mom was a great homemaker, always busy with gardening, cooking, and in her limited free time, making beautiful quilts. She worked side by side with dad to raise a garden, sheep and chickens for their family. Mom was a lifelong member of the LDS Church.
Leah was preceded in death by her husband Gordon, son Marlin, parents and four brothers. She is survived by her children, Gerald (Carolyn) Green, Whitney, ID; Delores (Jerry) Kershaw, Sandy, UT; Dale (Kerry) Green, Holladay, UT; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, sister, Verna Lloyd, and brother, Clyde Fairbourn.
Funeral Services will be held at the Riverton Stake Center, 1855 West, 13400 South at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2008. Viewing to be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley Mortuary, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), South Jordan and one hour prior the services at the Church.
Interment at the Riverton City Cemetery.
