ST. IGNATIUS -- Sandra Ann Matt Morigeau Adams, 55, died at her home here on June 25, 2004. She was born on Nov. 1, 1948, in St. Ignatius, to Isaac "Ike" Matt and Catherine Caltomee Saxa. She attended the Ursuline School. She finished her education in Nespelem before returning to Montana and later going to art school in Santa Fe. She worked at Two Eagle River School and in various tribal departments such as S&K Development and at the Char-Koosta News, before illness forced her to slow down. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and an uncle who helped raise her, Rose and John Saxa Sr., Louis and Rosalie Matt, and John Saxa; other uncles and aunties, Angie Matt Whitmore, Collette Matt Plouffe, Margaret Matt Vallee, Louie "Sonny" Matt, Casey Matt, Henry Matt, Elmer Matt, Basil "Uncle Bob" Matt, Peter Matt, Ignatius Saxa and Felician Saxa; her parents; and her mother-in-law, Helen. She leaves behind her husband, Dale Adams; her children: Jen (Dustin) Gatch, Lana (Chuck) Page and Mike (Dawna Jo) Morigeau; brothers Francis "Chief" (Brenda) Finley and Butch Finley; sisters Juanita "Deeda" (Neil) Adams and Sonia Chippewa; aunts Iva Saxa, Darlene Matt and Margaret Finley Matt; uncle Joseph "Joe" (Sophie) Matt; grandchildren Kyle, Winter, Tyler, Monty, Kobe, Logan, Jacob and Jaeleigh, and Zeke and Angus; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and adopted family; and her husband's family. Traditional wake services were conducted at the Longhouse. Funeral services were conducted in the St. Ignatius Catholic Mission on June 29, with interment following in the St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery.
