Dorothy Adele Logan was the fifth child and fourth daughter born to William Lee and Julia Byers Logan. Dorothy was only four years old when an older sister, Louise Logan, died. She remembered the whole family went to Colorado afterwards.
She graduated from Dallas High School in 1914, and married Verne Garrison on December 18, 1919. In Dorothy's high school yearbook, she mentions going to a some parties with Verne, and he is listed on some of her dance cards from other social events during her senior year.
Together Dorothy and Verne raised four children, three of whom are still living. Dorothy loved her church; she was very active at Westminster Presbyterian in Fort Worth.
