Richard W. Strouth, age 65, of Crystal, Minn., passed away Oct. 30, 2008, at Minneapolis Veteran's Administration Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be said Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Hedwig, 129 29th Ave. N.E., Minneapolis, with Fr. Glen Jenson presiding. Interment will follow at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation Monday, Nov. 3, 5-8 p.m. with 7 p.m. prayer service at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel, 3888 W. Broadway.

Richard was born Aug. 5, 1943, in Faribault, Minn., to parents, Raymond and Lenora Reuvers Strouth. He graduated from Bethlehem Academy in 1961. He served in the Vietnam War with the U.S. Navy as a flight director on the USS Hornet. Following the war, he moved to Minneapolis where he married Pat Zawadski on Oct. 24, 1964. He worked as an engineer.

He is survived by his children, Shelly (Jim) Danielson, Crystal, Minn., Jeff (Ashley) Strouth, San Diego, Calif., and Tracy (Brent) JoliCoeur, Hopkins, Minn.; grandchildren, Croix, Zaida, Ava, Sam, Lindsey and Alyssa; mother of his children, Pat Strouth; mother, Lenora Irwin, Owatonna; brothers, Jack Strouth, Faribault, Tony Strouth, St Paul, and Ray Strouth, Faribault; sisters, Mary Jane Mayer, White Bear Lake, Rose Cassem, Washington, Pat Gustafson, Faribault, Laurie Page, Ohio, Lisa Krippner, Elk River, and Jeanne Irwin, Owatonna.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Strouth.
