DIED - In this town [Amherst NH], on Monday last, Mrs. Mary Barnard, the mother of the Rev. Jeremiah Barnard, at the advanced age of one hundred and one years and six months. She was of the greatest age of any person ever living in this town, and probably the oldest of any person at this time in the county. She had nine children, three of which died young. The number of her grand children is 28. The number of her descendants of the 3d generation cannot now be ascertained. She retained her senses till a short time before her death; enjoying great tranquility of mind, from a hope full of joy; and fell quietly into the arms of death, as a shock of corn fully ripe. [The Farmers' Cabinet, 18 Oct 1823, page 3]

Regarding her birth: Stow, MA Vital Records has listed Mary Holman's birth as April 17, 1722 (in Stow, MA), the eldest daughter of Jeremiah Holman and Anna Priest. [from] Marilyn [11 May 2013]
