James Edward Johnson, 60, of 910 E. 27th St., died Thursday in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Elsmere, following a long illness.

He was a laborer at Haveg Industries in Marshallton for 10 years. He was a disable veteral of World War II.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Brandywine Post No. 2765. He was a member of the Wilmington United Neighbors.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jo Anna Johnson; two daughters, Frances Johnson and Estella Johnson, both of Milwaukee; three sons, Harry Johnson and Timothy Johnson, both of Milwaukee, and Wayne Johnson of Terre Haute, Ind.; two brothers, Walter H. Brown and Claude Du Pree of Wilmington, a sister Geniva Brown of Wilmington, and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 8 p.m. today at the Congo Funeral Home, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today. The family will receive friends at the home of Walter H. Brown, 2204 Washington St.

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Faterh of Francis and Harry Johnson, both of Milwaukee, WI, Wayne Johnson of Terre Haute, IN, Stella and Timothy Johnson, both of Milwaukee, WI. Bother of Walter H. Brown, Geniva Brown, and Claude Dupree, all of Wilmington, DE. Also survived by four grandchildren, a devoted aunt, Mrs. Benita Denise of Sharon Hill, PA, a devoted landlord, Mrs. Vivian Wrighter of Wilmington, DE, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Aged 60 years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at CONGO FUNERAL HOME, 201 N. Gray Ave., Wilmington, on Tuesday evening, October 14, at 8:00. Interment at Riverview Cemetery on Wednesday morning. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 until 8 pm.
