Funeral services for Holdenville resident, Gary L. Faulkner, 48, are to be held 10:00 am, Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel. Gary's brothers, Danny and Tony Faulkner, will officiate. Pallbearers are Kevin Farber, Craig Farber, Steven McGirt, Randall Billy, Jamie Powell and Nicholas Faulkner. Honorary pallbearers are Marty Kalinich, Chris Johnson, Kevin Brewer, Timmy Postoak, Vincent Harjo and Jerry Brown. Gary will be laid to rest next to his mother, Elsie, at Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home. An evening prayer service will be held 6:30 pm, Friday, August 6, 2008 at the funeral home chapel.
Gary Lynn Faulkner was born July 27, 1960 in Holdenville to Elsie (McGirt) and James Dale Faulkner. He attended Jones Academy in Hartshorne and worked as a firefighter for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. He was on the special response team that searched for debris from the crash of Space Shuttle Columbia. Gary was a hard worker and a member of the Ministry of Life Church in Wewoka. He enjoyed poetry, woodworking, drawing, fishing, and lifting weights.
His mother, Elsie Faulkner, and brothers, Larry Faulkner and Samuel Powell preceded Gary's death.
Surviving are his twin daughters: Melissa Paschal of Wewoka and Monica Paschal of Muskogee; father, James Dale Faulkner, of Holdenville; brothers: Fred Billy and wife, Mary, of Holdenville; Jimmy McGirt of Helena, Oklahoma; Danny Faulkner and wife, Susie, of Wewoka; Terry Faulkner of Stringtown; Tony Faulkner and wife, Mona, of Tulsa; Ricky Faulkner of Tulsa; sisters: Lucille Farber of Holdenville; Janie Harjo of Holdenville; Teresa Conley and husband, David, of Wewoka; grandchildren: Taylor Tanae Campbell, Michael Paul Campbell, Mariah Rice, Chad Rice, Isaiah Rice, Zachary Lane Paschal, and Jordon Grace Nicole Looper in addition to numerous other relatives and friends.
