Spc. Bradley Shane Coleman of Martinsville, Virginia attended Magna Vista High School where he was part of the JROTC. After graduating in 2003 he worked with his dad who is a brickmason. Shane attended Calvary's Hill Pentecostal Church of Martinsville. He enlisted in the Army in April 2007 and was sent to Iraq on his first tour in June. He was supposed to be home on leave in January 2009. He and his wife had known each other since they were children and were married in May 2006. He is the son of Dale Coleman, of Ridgeway, and Dianne Hammock Vernon, of Eden, N.C. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Heather Tucker Coleman, one daughter, Shyanna; and one son, T.C., his stepmother, Yolanda Coleman and stepfather, Carl Vernon; three sisters, Dianna Lynn Jenkins, Sherry Kitchen, and Melissa Coleman; one stepsister, Samantha Nelson; two stepbrothers, Chris Gravely and Cory Vernon. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Peggy Hammock and paternal grandparents, Charles and Alice Coleman. Shane was killed in Iraq while serving in the United States Army at age 24.
