BLOOMINGTON — Jean L. Montgomery, 72, of Bloomington passed away Thursday, October 30, 2008, at Bloomington Hospital. Jean was born February 22, 1936, in Tell City, Indiana, to Nicholas and Henrietta Kress Beumel.

She graduated from Tell City High School and worked part time at Aldens, Lazarus and Blocks after her children were in school. She was a homemaker and was happiest when she had all her family gathered around her. She was definitely a people person and could engage anyone in conversation. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabella.

Jean is survived by Jim, her husband of 53 years; son Michael and wife Karen of Bloomington; son Steven of Chicago, Illinois; daughter Kimberly and husband Charlie of Maple Grove, Minnesota; grandson Patrick with the United States Army in Iraq and his wife Becky of Kileen, Texas; grandson Andrew of Bloomington; grandson Charlie Horton of Maple Grove, Minnesota, and great-granddaughter Sarah of Kileen, Texas; sister Lauretta Kuster of Bloomington; and nieces Cheryl Wood of Bloomington and Debra Egemo of Spencer. Jean's parents preceded her in death.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 6, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Fr. Bill Stumpf will preside. Burial will follow at the Clear Creek Cemetery. Visitation for Jean will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2008, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, led by the Daughters of Isabella.
