MARY BETH AUSTIN born Dec. 10, 1985 in Dallas, daughter of Dan & Mary Chrystine Pool Austin.

Three killed in accident

BOGATA

Three people from the Deport/Cunningham area died as a result of a Monday morning two-vehicle accident, and three others were sent to area hospitals.

Two children, Brandon Glenn Fox, 1, of Deport, and Mary Beth Austin, 4 months, were killed when they were thrown from a 1979 Mercury. Mary Chrystine Austin, 23, of Cunningham, died at McCuistion Regional Medical Center about two hours after the accident.

According to Department of Public Safety reports, the Mercury, driven by Docia Pool Fox, 21, of Deport, was stopped at the intersection of U.S. Highway 37 and 271 when a 1985 Ford truck-tractor came into collision with the rear of the Mercury. The car, according to reports, was knocked across Highway 271 where it overturned. The collision happened at 9:35 a.m.

Mrs. Fox, who is 33 weeks pregnant, is listed in critical conditon with head injuries in Wadley Hospital in Texarkana. Gladys Pool, 51, of Pattonville, and Daniel Stephen Austin, 28, of Cunningham, are in good condition in McCuistion, where they are being treated for cuts and abrasions.

The driver of the truck, Walter Lloyd Perry of Winnsboro, was not injured.

Funeral services for the three are pending with Grant Funeral Home in Deport.

Funeral services for Brandon Glenn Fox, 2, Mary Chrystine Austin, 23, and Mary Beth Austin, 5 months, will be conducted Thursday, April 24, at 2 p.m. in Life Tabernacle Church in Cunningham with the Rev. Lyndol Whitt and the Rev. Glenn Renfro officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery at Cunningham by Grant Funeral Home.

The three were killed in an automobile accident Monday, April 21, in Bogata.

Surviving are his parents; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Pool of Cunningham, Mrs. Faye Walker of Marvin and Alvin Fox of Eureka, Calif.; a step-grandfather, R.C. Walker of Cunningham; and a greatgrandmother, Mrs. Margaret Cannon of Cunningham.

Mrs. Austin was born March 25, 1963, in Paris, a son [daughter] of Ben and Gladys Cannon Pool.
