Daughter of Pioneer D.M. Family
Omaha, Neb (AP) - Mrs. Mary E. O'Connell, 77, oldest daughter of a pioneer Des Moines family
and resident of Omaha for nine years died here Friday at the home of a daughter after a five-month illness. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Linnane, who went to Des Moines in the stagecoach days. Mrs. O'Connell was active here in women's work at St Peter's Catholic church. She was a Des Moines resident for 68 years. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Maryellyn Sexton of Omaha and Mrs. George Utterson of Des Moines; two sisters including Mrs. James Wallace of Des Moines and two brothers including Daniel Linnane of Des Moines. Services will be held Monday at Des Moines in St Ambrose cathedral where Mrs. O'Connell was married 57 years ago.
