She was 98 years old and the daughter of Andrew Jackson and Hettie (Ryle) Herd, was a long-time resident of Chandler. She married Polk Cochran on June 10, 1933, in Chandler. Murrel was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Her parents, husband and 12 brothers and sisters preceded Murrel in death.

Survivors include, Daughter, Son, Grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, Other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services in Chandler with Rev. Bruce Newby, Brother Jim Morningstar and Rev. Van Herd officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home.
