Barbara Cantwell Funeral services for Barbara Alberta Baize Cantwell, 81, of Lampasas were Nov. 2, 2008, at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas. Burial followed at Gillum Cemetery at Oakalla.
Mrs. Cantwell died Oct. 30 at Continuing Care Hospital in Temple.
She was born Feb. 4, 1927, in Tuxedo, the daughter of Calvin Urphy and Thelma Sellers Baize.
Mrs. Cantwell finished school in Gatesville and had lived in Lampasas since 1954.
She attended Jackson Business College and later taught there. She also worked at the radio station, and in earlier years had been a telephone operator.
She married Lendol O. Cantwell on Aug. 14, 1968, in Burnet County, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 13, 2008.
Mrs. Cantwell was a member of Broad Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Kathy and S.A. Baxter of Lampasas; a son and his wife, Jack and Glynda Chapman of Lampasas; a stepson and wife, Jimmy and Flo Pierce of Oakalla; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Baize of Arkansas and Ruby Cantwell of Florence; five grandchildren, Beau Wilson, Wade Chapman, Ashley Underwood, James Pierce and Torbett Pierce; nine greatgrandchildren, Jacie Martin, Breck Pierce, Robert Pierce, Quinn Pierce, Keely Wilson, Bryli Wilson, Presley Underwood, Peyton Underwood and Pacey Underwood; and two great-great-grandchildren, Gracie Martin and Whitt Martin.
The family requested memorials be made to Broad Street Church of Christ or Gillum Cemetery Association.
