William L. "June" Horton, 81, of Rt. 5, Ashland, died this morning at his home following a long illness.
Mr. Horton was born Nov 12, 1908 in Elliott County, a son of the late John Will and Laura Mobley Horton.
He was a cattle dealer and former co-owner of Catlettsburg Stockyards, a member of Summit Baptist Church and Trimble Lodge 145 F & AM and a Kentucky Colonel.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Virginia Gertrude Green Horton; a son, Marty Horton of Ashland; a daughter, Estella Porter of Ashland; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at the Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg by the Rev. Clell Lucas.
Burial will be in Carter County Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home.
A Masonic service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
