ELSIE DEA HUDSON, a resident of Green Forest, was born Sept. 4, 1917, in Pindall, a daughter of Will and Rosa (Jordan) Sisco. She died, Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, in Green Forest, at the age of 91.
Mrs. Hudson was baptized in the Christian faith. She loved sewing, cooking and being with her grandchildren. On March 29, 1939, Elsie was united in marriage with Noel "Grandpa" Hudson, who survives her of the home. She is also survived by three sons and one daughter, Carl Hudson of Green Forest, Judy Hoffman of Gassaway, W.Va., Doug Hudson and wife Carolyn of Alpena, and Mike Hudson of Green Forest; 18 grandchildren, Sean Hudson of Green Forest, James Hudson of Berryville, Suzanne Kist of Stuttgart, Germany, Rick Hoffman of Heaters, W.Va., Eddy Hoffman of Herold, W.Va., Steve Hoffman of Gassaway, W.Va., John Hoffman of Gassaway, W.Va., Teressa Villines of Springdale, Cheryl White of Rogers, Allen Hudson of Tucker, Kelley Hudson of Oak Grove, Zane Hudson of Alpena, Brannon Youngblood of Green Forest, Ryan Youngblood of Alpena, Tiffany Gilliam of Alpena, Nickole Hudson of Missouri, Misty Fee of Louisiana, and Billie Dawn Stevens of Iowa; 36 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by one son, Charles Ray Hudson; three brothers; four sisters; and her mother and father.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at Nelson's Green Forest Chapel with Rev. James Sisco and Shane Gilliam officiating. Interment followed in the Pickens Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
