Daniel Willis Benton, 56, our loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on January 14, 1990 of cancer.

Born August 12, 1933 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Rufus and Velma Jones Denton. Married Joan Brown on December 22, 1954 in the Logan LDS Temple. Attended the U of U and graduated from Baltimore College of Dental Surgery Dental School, University of Maryland. He served in the U.S. Public Health Service assigned to the U.S. Coast Guard as chief dental officer in Ketchikan and Junieau, Alaska. Past president of the Weber District Dental Society; Past president of Utah Dental Assoc.; and served 12 years as Delegate at Large to the American Dental Assoc. He served on the American Dental Assoc. Insurance Council; and was chairman of the Davis County Board of Health. He served on the Professional Insurance Exchange Advisory Council; and was past president of the American Society of Dentistry for Children, Utah Chapter; past president Ogden Dental Seminar. Member of the Pierre Sauchard Academy, and the Ogden Implant Study Group.

He was a member of the Sunset 1st LDS Ward. Active in the Boy Scouts of America for 18 years. Past president of the Young Mens; Sunday School teacher; and Stake Employment specialist. He had been the chairman of the Sunset Fun Days in 1988.

Survived by wife, Sunset; four daughters, Mrs. Douglas (Brooke) Bates, Lacanada, Calif.; Mrs. Kirk (Suzanne) Ferguson, Centerville; Mrs. McLloyd (Shannon) Jensen, Cleveland, Ohio; Dana Benton, Sunset; five grandchildren; four brothers and sister, David E. Benton; Lloyd J. Benton, both Idaho Falls, Idaho; Paul E. Benton, Salt Lake City; Dr. John E. Benton, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Mrs. Dr. Phillip (Juanita) Bryson, Wheaton, Ill.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Sunset 1st Ward Chapel, 2431 North 250 West with Bishop Scott Mikesell officiating. Friends may call at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main Street on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m., and at the Church on Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m.

Interment: Kaysville City Cemetery.
