Carl Herbert Schramm, 88, Payson, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1986, at the Ell Rancho Nursing Home, Payson.

He was born July 22, 1897, at Payson to Ferdinand August and Pauline Caroline Schwab Schramm. He married Neva May Passey Dec. 19, 1923, in the Salt Lake City Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She died June 19, 1983.

He was educated at Payson and was a farmer, poultry man and fruit grower on West Mountain for most of his life.

He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many positions, including as stake mission president. He was active in scouting, serving on the scouting committee for years.

Survivors include five sons: Lawrence H. Schramm, Lehi; C.C. Schramm, West Mountain; Floyd Schramm and Glade Schramm, both Payson; and Max B. Schramm, Fruit Heights; a daughter: Mrs. Harold (La Verla) Penny, Concord, Calif.; 28 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Ruby Braithwaite and Elsie Schramm, both Payson, and Pauline Young, Fillmore.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Payson 12th-13th LDS Ward Church, one and a half miles west of Payson on Utah Avenue. Friends may call at Park Memorial Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Payson, 6-8 p.m. Thursday and at the church one hour before services Friday.

Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
