Mr. Roane was a gas station attendant in Wilmington until illness forced him to retire recently.
He is survived by his wife, Mary L.; two sons, Jeffery and Avery, and a daughter, Gloria, all at home; two brothers, Harry of Wilmington and George of Newark, N.J.; four sisters, Lillie Johnson and Pearl DaCasta, both of Wilmington, Mattie Toombs of King William County, Va., and Lucy Fox of West Point, Va.
Services will be Saturday afternoon at 1 at Latter Day Baptist Church, 520 W. 32nd St., where friends may call two hours earlier. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
